Advocacy Resources Exchange (ARX) is an organisation that provides information and advice about advocacy. Our aim is to create a more equal and just society for people who are marginalised and at risk of social exclusion, by empowering them through quality independent advocacy.

We do this by providing relevant information to:

  • people who want to find an advocate for themselves
  • a family member or friend who wants to help someone else to find an advocate
  • other professionals, such as a social worker, health professional or lawyer, who want to find an advocate for someone they work with.

We also work with advocacy organisations by enabling them to develop their skills and expertise, so they can provide better quality advocacy for more people. We provide general information to anyone that wants to know more about advocacy.

National Advocacy Conference

Advocacy Resource Exchange will be hosting a national advocacy conference in Coventry on the 15th/16th November 2010.  The theme of the conference will be “Make me a better advocate”. 
The two day event will commence with a late afternoon seminar on the 15th to discuss the role of advocacy as a front line service and there will then be a pre conference dinner with an after dinner speaker.  Key note speakers and workshops on the 16th will focus on how advocacy services can get better at what they do and improve the impact that they have for people who use their services.
The aim of this event is to bring together advocates from organisations working with all client groups, providing any model of independent advocacy.  As well as providing a valuable networking opportunity in workshops there will be the opportunity to hear from experienced key note speakers.
Places are limited and booking forms and detailed programme will be available at the end of August.  If you want to reserve your place now then please email your details to Andrea Dixon at enquiries@advocacyresource.org.uk.  The cost per delegate is £210 which includes overnight accommodation and all meals.  There will be a 10% reduction for additional delegates from the same organisation.
