Our Objectives
- To support Independent advocacy organisations to offer high quality advocacy provision for disregarded and disadvantaged people who have difficulty in getting their voices heard.
- To maintain a comprehensive database of independent advocacy provision throughout the UK and operate a supported referral system to help individuals find appropriate advocacy support.
- To promote good practice and encourage high quality, sustainable advocacy provision by developing and maintaining a comprehensive web-based resource bank that offers a range of development opportunities for local advocacy organizations.
- To promote contact and co-operation between advocacy schemes by working in partnership with others to develop regional networks that represent the diversity of people seeking advocacy support and the diversity of advocacy models that are available.
- To exert a responsible influence on policy-makers, commissioners and other key stake-holders, ensuring that the views and experiences of those working in local advocacy schemes are represented, to increase the status of independent advocacy and to promote increased access to it.
- To ensure all organisational activities inform and are informed by relevant legislation, policies and strategies at a national level.
