Welcome to Advocacy Resource Exchange
Advocacy Resources Exchange (ARX) is a national organisation supporting the provision of Independent Advocacy. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice through the process of supporting voices to be heard in the complex communities that make up neighbourhoods, towns and cities in Britain.
“Advocacy can be defined as an individual being supported to express views, communicate choices and receive services or participation as a result.
Our Vision is that all those who face disadvantage, discrimination or prejudice because of their unique identity and status, will have access to independent advocacy in their time of need.
Our Aim is to secure an increase in the availability of quality independent advocacy that delivers diverse solutions for diverse needs.
Our Work involves promoting contact and co-operation between advocacy schemes by working in partnership to develop regional networks that represent the diversity of people seeking advocacy support and the diversity of advocacy models that are available.
We aim to make sure that that the views and experience of locally based advocacy providers is used to exert a responsible influence on policy-makers, commissioners and other key stake-holders to lobby for greater access to independent advocacy for those who seek it.
We provide relevant information to help people to understand more about advocacy.
